heaven couldn’t wait…

heaven couldn’t wait…

Oh God, how my stomach turned when I received the call. A tone abundantly consumed by hurt and devastation, I could barely comprehend the words which were being uttered.

Pain I would never wish on my worst enemy; the words of consolation got stuck in my throat as my emotions overwhelmingly took over my psychological thought processes of trying to find the right words to say.

But what do you say?

What do you say to the mother of a newborn child? To a mother who has lost her only child?

If only the cowards knew who their victim truly was, knew the damage they had caused. If they knew how important he was to his father or how much of a key role he played in his daughters life, could the outcome have been different?

The news reported you as a 35-year-old man, but that’s not who you are. You have a name and had a future. You were love and the outpouring of love and gratitude commencing in your honor proves just that.

You are a son, a father, a companion, a friend, a nephew, a grandson. A role model, and inspiration, a treasure, and a breath of fresh air. You were positivity, hope, determination, and humility in human form.

With a smile and laugh so contagious, you could effortlessly light up a room, and your captivating personality granted you the ability to make the shyest of persons feel the most comfortable.

Educated and intelligent, warm and hospitable, humble and respectful; it was always a pleasure.

With a life of immeasurable potential, your legacy must be fulfilled through your children and through those whom you’ve left an everlasting impression on.

And though we are taught not to question the “why”, the unspoken still remains. And although we made plans of our own, we ultimately know that the agenda our God’s was greater.

Your memories remind us to laugh, to encourage and motivate one another, to inspire, and to create.

We owe it to ourselves, we owe it to you.

Rest Peacefully Ty
